I really would like to write to this blog more often, but there’s sometimes just not enough to say. It’s like my diary… I kept it completely up to date at least every two days for over a year before I gave up on it again. It’s not that I don’t have enough on my mind to write about… I’m constantly thinking up new wacky life plans, or getting a crush on a guy, either someone who’s already taken, or it just ends up being a week long thing before I move on again… But I digress.
There have been few developments recently, but some of them have been pretty major. For the second time, the college’s name has been slated by an event started on Facebook (where else?) which involved hitting anyone wearing a Jack Wills gilet. Now, there are two stories circulating about this, the first being that the event was not created by a college student but by someone from a different college who had set the location as our school. The second story is that it WAS someone from our college. Either way, the company found out about it and are presenting possible legal action against us…
The other factor to our current bad reputation was the beginning of term college party, which was organised by our senior students, but combined three of the local colleges. Basically, even though the club was not selling much alcohol, several lower sixth students were smashed and causing a ruckus. One girl decided it would be a good idea to bite a policeman, and it was claimed that girls at the party had “Skirts up to their elbows”… Anyone else able to point out the obvious physical impossibility of this? The whole thing was blown completely out of proportion, but the world loves scandal and as soon as the respectable college gets involved in some slightly difficult situations… BANG! It gets slated…
So yeah… Principle isn’t happy, teachers have mixed opinions (One of my teachers allegedly was looking on the college system for a student named Jack Wills so he had an excuse to punch him…LOL!) and the students who weren’t aware have just been VERY confused. With all this, the removal of caps on University fees and the stupidity of the weather recently… It’s not been the greatest of months.
On a lighter note, here are some things to be happy about <3
- Christmas Lights - Release of the new Harry Potter film - Hot water bottles, snuggled up in bed - Writing things in the misty windows of trains/buses - The cool blue-looking hue of everything in the early darkness of the evening - The cool blue-looking hue of everything when the moon is out (I love colour…) - Oh! And flapjacks =]
Hopefully some fun stuff will happen soon! Will update laters. Parting is such sweet sorrow, but I shall say goodnight until the morrow (hmmm… maybe later… XD)
So I turned 18 in September… but there is NOTHING like a good old childish film to cheer you up. For instance, I once sat in a cinema full of 5-8 year olds watching “Hoodwinked” which was a Little Red Riding Hood story. I was laughing more than the younger kids… Fun Times.. XD
Despicable me is a lovely turn around on the classic superhero film, taking it instead as a supervillian film. Steve Carrell (Evan Almighty) does a fantastic job at playing the voice of Gru, who is the boss of all the cute little minions above. (James described them as little tic-tacs… XD) Basically, he wishes to steal the moon to become the greatest villian ever, but he is in competition with Vector, who has an obsession with fish-launching projectiles… To obtain the shrink ray, he adopts three young girls to infiltrate Vector’s home armed with cookie robots. Of course, as the film goes on in true Disney style, he gets attatched to them and… HILARITY ENSUES… obviously.
It’s a brilliant film and its totally worth a watch. Didn’t see it in 3D (Don’t have that kind of money to spare on films.) but I imagine that it would be even more awesome with the effects. If you’re anything like me, you WILL cry at the end because it’s just too damn cute!! Really is worth the time to see this because it will cheer you up no end.
